Hymenoplasty

Hymenoplasty

A hymenoplasty procedure restores hymeneal membrane integrity. Prof. Dr. Ostrzenski utilizes three methods that he develops to repair ruptured hymeneal membrane:

  1. Edges of vaginal hymeneal tags are brought together by scarification (surgical preparations of the ruptured hymeneal membrane edges) and suturing them tightly (when hymeneal membrane tags are present),
  2. Surgical development of the hymeneal ring with CO2 laser or electrocautery and narrowing the hymeneal ring (when hymeneal membrane tags are not present),
  3. Utilizing the hymeneal ring and the small fragment of the vaginal walls to create the de-novo hymeneal membrane (when hymeneal tags are not present).
