A hymenoplasty procedure restores hymeneal membrane integrity. Prof. Dr. Ostrzenski utilizes three methods that he develops to repair ruptured hymeneal membrane:
- Edges of vaginal hymeneal tags are brought together by scarification (surgical preparations of the ruptured hymeneal membrane edges) and suturing them tightly (when hymeneal membrane tags are present),
- Surgical development of the hymeneal ring with CO2 laser or electrocautery and narrowing the hymeneal ring (when hymeneal membrane tags are not present),
- Utilizing the hymeneal ring and the small fragment of the vaginal walls to create the de-novo hymeneal membrane (when hymeneal tags are not present).
